Fall 2013 Student Teaching Experience
First Placement:
Valhalla High School, Valhalla, NY from September 9th to October 25th, 2013
Highlights:
- Opportunity to see how a seasoned teacher begins the school year on the right foot
- Attended the Valhalla superintendent conference before the school began
- Attended Fall Open House and introduced myself to my students' parents/guardians
- Trusted to become the "lead" teacher in the classroom after a fairly short period of time due to my mentor teacher's "individuals learn by doing" philosophy
- Mentor teacher arranging for my students to provide me with constructive feedback at the end of my first placement
